But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons (Galatians 4: 4-5).
Thank you, dear friends, for all your prayers and support on our behalf. We have been comforted by all of you. In December, Calvary Hospital Hospice agreed to work along with the VA Home Care team to help Alex in all his medical needs. This was a true answer to many prayers, as Anna needed additional help to care for Alex at home. Soon, a care giver for 4 hours five times a week will assist.
Alex had a season of change on early September when he became totally bedridden. The doctors were unable to find any new information as to why Alex's pain level had changed. But a very good and effective medicine was found for him while he was in the hospital. The Calvary Hospice is an exceptionally dedicated organization meeting the needs of terminally ill patients. And we thank God for their service.
Andy, Alex's younger brother, was suddenly taken up to "Glory" right before Thanksgiving. He had served the Lord faithfully and is now resting from all his labors. This has been a season of tears for us, but also a time of consolation and revived trust in God's Word (1Peter 1:1-9).
Our youngest daughter, Sarah, is graduating from college this year. Miriam has found a new job in Manhattan, NY. She received her master's degree while in London, England. Both of our daughters have been a joy to us. They have offered much assistance to their mom in caring for their dad. Two of Anna's close (Finnish-American) friends and families have also helped as a cheering section of comfort and joy. You have been counted as part of this vital team as well.
Thank You! Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!
In Christ,
Alex and Anna Deikun
