Serving with SMS for 24 years, Tim continues to fulfill his calling as part of the media communications team. Originally he answered the Call to build and oversee the Ashford Recording Studio in 1983 where he produced Christian radio programs in Slavic languages. The cassette and reel-to-reel programs were beamed into the then U.S.S.R. via various shortwave radio stations.
● Now, with cassettes and reel-to-reels a thing of the past, Tim is actively working to preserve the four decades of Christian program materials stored on these antiquities before it is too late. The process is rigorous, as many of the reel-to-reels and cassettes were stored in Connecticut where moisture took its toll. To reduce breakage, dehydration is the first process followed by editing, copying to CD, labeling, and finally mailing to a dry storage location until needed. Most recently he completed the Revelation Series which is now ready for production. Tim is currently restoring the book of Acts.
While Tim was recovering from a bone marrow transplant due to a bout with terminal Leukemia, he discovered the value of listening to the Bible on CD. He left the hospital with a passion to produce Slavic languages CDs of the books of the Bible as well as other Christian materials in a dramatic format, which would include music and professional sound effects. Others within SMS felt a similar Call and, in January of 2006, the first dramatic CD series on the book of John was produced and is distributed as funds allow. Accompanying the CD series is a written version of the book of John. Both the CD and book are packaged in an attractively designed CD box and are offered free of charge to minister to those Slavic individuals seeking to know Christ or to mature in their faith. The books of Revelation and Acts are in the planning process.
